dances made to be viewed in the dark

An immersive journey through an abandoned slaughterhouse.

An uplifting rumination on fear, darkness, & death.

A last dance in the dark.

Aggregate Immateriality offered guests a quietly uplifting contemplation of their own mortality, as they moved through an abandoned slaughterhouse in North Denver’s Globeville neighborhood.

This immersive event, created in a 12,000 square-foot maze of rooms in the basement of a decommissioned slaughterhouse, is Control Group’s largest production to date. Created by Control Group Productions in collaboration with Incite Colorado (environment design), Daniel Sharkey Cinematography (video), and Slaughterhouse Investments (venue management), Aggregate Immateriality culminates the 4-year, 7-work series dances made to be viewed in the dark – an unfolding of the sensory experiences and social contents of darkness.
